Threaded rods

                                


Threaded rods are used to move the 3D printer head up, down, and in Z-direction. Belts provide x-axis and y-axis movement, whereas threaded rods provide z-axis movement.

End Stops

When components are moved, end stops ensure that the endpoints are designated along the three axes. It specifies the range of motion for each component.

Power Supply Unit (PSU)

For the operation of the 3D printer, a power supply unit is required to supply power. It can be mounted on the frame. You can choose PSU according to the temperature range of the material (filament)used in the 3D printer. It can be also placed in a separate unit contained within a box.

 

 Print Bed

The print bed is available in two types: heated and non-heated. Here a final 3D model is created. To create 3D objects, filament materials are deposited on this print bed. Heated beds are preferred for advanced filament material. A non-heated bed is suitable for PLA.

 


Steel sheet

It is placed on the top layer of the print bed. It helps remove the object after printing easier and prevents it from sticking to the print bed. There are three types of print surfaces: smooth, textured, and satin. Spring steel sheets are easy to maintain and make removing the printed object. Never print directly on a heatbed.

Print Head

The print head consists of a cold end and a hot end. The filament enters through the cold end which is present at top of the print head and goes down towards the hot end. Through this hot end, filament flows out and takes the shape of the object that needs to be printed. A nozzle is present at the hot end which melts solid filament into liquid filament. According to instructions given to the controller board, this liquid filament is pushed out of the filament.

 

Feeder System

There are two types of feeder systems used in 3D printers, Bowden and Direct feeder systems. The feeder system is a part through which filament is fed into the print head.

In the Bowden feeder system, the hot end and the extruder are placed far away from each other. Due to this, the filament has to travel a longer distance to reach the hot end of the print head. In a direct feeder system, the hot end is placed near to extruder so the filament drops directly into the hot end.

The direct feeder system is most commonly used, and it is best for flexible filament but according to your own preference you can choose the Bowden system

Dual Extrusion

The extruder can be categorized into two sections: single and dual. As the name suggests single extrusion means there is only one nozzle present. On the other hand, dual extrusion means there are two nozzles present in one printer head. Or two nozzles are connected with two different print heads.  In this, you can use two filaments to print a 3d object. Dual extrusion is more popular as it has the choice of printing an object using two distinct colors or materials.

User Interface and Connectivity

The user interface helps to measure printer parameters such as temperature and filament levels and control the loading and unloading of filament. Advanced 3D printers come with a touchscreen LCD interface, which is an attractive feature for users.

File Transfer Options
